Proposed Amendment to the 4 Union Park Affordable Housing TIF
At last November's election, the Town voted to approve an Affordable Housing Tax Increment Financing District for the apartment building proposed to be built at 4 Union Park Drive.
MaineHousing reviewed the draft application for the TIF and has taken the position that rather than the tax increment financing district being the entire tax lot that the apartment building will be built upon, it wants the district to be limited to just the new apartment buidling and the area that supports it (courtyard, parking spaces, etc.). If passed at town meeting, the warrant article would reduce the TIF district to just "Unit A" (the orange building and light purple area around it) on the sketch shown on this page.
