A spur trail off of the Highland trails

Highlands Trails

Tucked into a small valley between the Highlands and Pleasant St., these trails are perfect for a break from work, or a jaunt at the end of the day. The Highlands trails follow a winding creek, but also have spurs that provide access points to nearby roads and other recreation areas. The trails vary in difficulty level, with the Abby Trail being the steepest and hardest of the group.

Directions

From the Frank Wood Bridge (green bridge across Androscoggin), cross into Topsham and head through the first set of lights on 201. After the Dairy Queen, take a right on Pleasant Street. The entrance to the trails is straight ahead, just as Pleasant Street begins to turn right. There is no designated parking area for the trails.

Although these trails are on private property, it is open to respectful public use.
