Full Time Employment:

Topsham Fire & Rescue is currently accepting applications for full-time Firefighter 1&2 /EMTA,EMTP Providers. We are looking for motivated individuals who possess a strong work ethic and a desire to serve the Topsham community in a professional, fast-paced environment.

Shift Schedule:

  • 4 shifts
  • 24/72 schedule

Requirements:

  • Pro-Board Firefighter I/II Current Maine EMS Licensure (Paramedic/Advanced EMT required)

Continuous Recruitment for Per Diem Personnel

The Topsham Fire & Rescue Department maintains an ongoing recruitment process for dedicated Per Diem professionals in the following roles:

  • Firefighter  1&2 / EMS Provider (EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic)

While we welcome all qualified applicants, preference is given to candidates with dual certification in both Fire and EMS services. We accept applications on a rolling basis to ensure our team remains prepared to serve the community.

Full-Time Position Job Description and Application Requirements

To be considered for a full-time firefighter position with the Topsham Fire Department, all candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Licensure: Possess a valid, unencumbered driver's license.

  • Emergency Medical Certification: Hold a current EMTA (Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced) or EMTP (Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic) license.

  • Firefighting Certification: Be certified as a Firefighter I & II.

  • Screening: Successfully complete and pass both a pre-employment physical examination and a comprehensive background check.

  • Selection Process: Complete a formal interview process with a panel representing the Town of Topsham.
