Energy Committee
The Topsham Energy Committee researches and informs the Topsham Select Board on matters relating to energy efficiency and other sustainability matters. Under their direction, this work includes:
- Research and recommend strategies, policies, and projects to the Select Board that will achieve energy conservation and thus reduce Topsham’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Offer public information, education, and outreach on energy conservation and renewable energy.
- Evaluate and employ energy conservation practices with our residents, schools, and business community to align with the goals and strategies of the Maine Climate Council.
Focus Areas
- Promote renewable energy use and installation;
- Sustainable design and construction;
- Weatherization;
- Car chargers;
- Beneficial electrification;
- Transportation;
- Regional collaboration and partnerships;
- Green business development;
- Carbon sequestration in forest and farms;
- Climate adaptation; and
- Others as identified by the Select Board.

Current Work: The Energy Committee is currently working on updating the Town's 2012 Climate Action Plan.
Meetings
Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm. Meeting agendas and connection links will be posted about a week prior to each meeting.
